Position Overview:

The Technical Lead will join the digital team at Identity Global to plan and oversee the development and hosting resources for the department and lead technical delivery from solution design to DevOps, deployment, and maintenance. The role will include both ‘on the tools’ and governance responsibilities and suit a versatile candidate keen to work across a wide range of technologies including Azure and CI, with great interpersonal and presentation skills. The role will include leading both technical and non-technical teams, alongside suppliers to deliver best-in-class work.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Scope, design and present technical solutions, integrations, and approaches across a wide range of pitches and projects, including web, mobile and experiential builds.
  • Author technical project documentation including technical specifications, functional specifications, test, and deployment plans according to our Project Delivery Framework and templates
  • Work closely with digital producers to deliver scoping and cost estimates for development, QA (Quality Assurance) and release management on pitches and projects * Work with digital producers to select and manage external development, and QA suppliers
  • Brief suppliers
  • Liase with developers and testers to ensure quality delivery
  • Recommend technical solutions
  • Assist digital producers and developers to build and deploy new features and functionality for existing web applications o REACT, NextJS, Webpack, etc.
  • General management of individual developers including integration with CI pipelines and our hosting infrastructure
  • Manage deploying web applications on Azure infrastructure including setting up CI pipelines between GitHub and Azure 2
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team including the Creative Strategist and Digital Creative Director/Digital Producers to review and solution robust, secure creative ideas
  • Collaborate with our Data & IT Manager to ensure ongoing technical governance and upkeep across Identity-owned Azure infrastructure
  • Champion high-quality technical approach and delivery across all digital projects and support our agency to understand and appreciate digital solutions and ways of working
  • Communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, building understanding and consensus with clients and colleagues

Skills and Experience:

  • Azure management o Deployment pipelines from GitHub to Azure o Azure server monitoring – performance / uptime / identify issues during the event (API endpoints, login pages, etc.) o Server scaling – upscale day of event, downscale afterwards o General usage analytics – monitor GA account during event to assist with live performance metrics and to identify any issues o Domain, DNS, SSL configuration and setup
  • Developer management o Ensure developers (freelance) deliver high-quality, compliant work o Ensure code quality and adherence to the wireframes, functional and technical specifications
  • Release Management & Quality Assurance o Experience working with external QA companies covering penetration, load, and functional testing o Experience prioritising QA tickets o Experience in UAT of websites and application from freelance developers and external suppliers o Experience of successful release management
  • Communication o Clear communication and able to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders o Stakeholder management and relationship building within the agency o Able to build trusting client relationships o High quality written documentation using required templates across all digital projects 3
